Dinner Fundraiser

It's time to celebrate!

Do Some Good is excited to announce our first official fundraiser after receiving our 501c3 non-profit status earlier this year. Our wonderful friends at Vivo Kitchen in Apple Valley will be helping with our first event, which includes a 3-course meal from their talented culinary team in a private dining setting. Our goal is to fill the room to it's 80 person capacity and we would like our supporters to join us.

The evening will include an introduction of our Board Members, a brief background of Do Some Good and the direction of our future. While mingling with fellow Do Some Good supporters, we'll have a couple of fun giveaways as well as some really nice items for a small silent auction that will run throughout the evening.

We hope you will join us on April 24th and help Do Some Good continue to give back to our communities. If you would like to join us, please register through our PayPal Donation Page (PayPal account not required). Retain your receipt for your records as well as confirmation that you registered for our dinner. Any questions can be directed to dsgchallenge@gmail.com

Please RSVP by April 17th.

Do Some Good Receives Non-Profit Status

News Release
For Immediate Publication
January 23, 2017

Contact: Nicholas Goers

Since 2012, Do Some Good has existed; to support the Minnesota Non-Profit community as well as Individuals, by providing resources and monetary support to beneficiaries and challenging everyone to Do Some Good. We believe that giving back shouldn't feel like and obligation, rather because you feel it in your heart to do so.

Our beneficiaries are near and dear to our hearts and not only have we raised funds for them, we’ve also helped many other great organizations, schools and individuals raise necessary funds totaling over $100,000. But we couldn’t do it without our generous supporters, corporate sponsors and donors.

We’ve worked very hard at achieving our success, with a goal of one day obtaining our non-profit status to better serve the great people of Minnesota.  Effective January 8th, 2017, Do Some Good received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status and we couldn’t be more excited for this news. By achieving this, it allows Do Some Good to accept donations that are tax deductible to support our mission and better serve our communities. It will allow us to strengthen the non-profit community as well as our beneficiaries. It will also allow us to work towards providing scholarships to those that exemplify Do Some Good’s mission, vision and values.

We are looking forward to the future, selecting our final 2 board members and continue to challenge everyone, to Do Some Good!

Backing the Blue Line Fundraiser Follow Up

Another amazing fundraiser is in the books and another very satisfied organization that will be receiving a large check in the mail very soon. How much did we raise? Soon, very soon… But first, a little background on our relationship with Backing the Blue Line and the day’s events.

When we first reached out to Backing the Blue Line, they had a lot of hesitation and was pretty much saying no to allowing Do Some Good to raise money for them. They informed us that they’ve worked with some others in the past that outlined the same thing Do Some Good was proposing, but didn’t receive what they were promised. This was unacceptable to us! While we were comfortable and accepting with the word no, we wanted to prove to them that we deliver what we promise. We only work with responsible, local non-profits and that we too, were a responsible organization. Several emails back and forth, lots of convincing and lots of examples of our work with our other beneficiaries and they were on board! We were super happy and ready to get things rolling!

We never ask for help from our supported organizations, maybe just a few mentions on their social media pages or with their supporters/members, but Do Some Good takes care of everything. The ladies at Backing the Blue Line seemed to be in shock and were persistent, “can we help?”, “What do you need form us?” We just reassured them that we had everything handled.

Lots of emails sent out to our donors, event space secured, food and beverage secured, everything was moving along just fine. As the big day approached, we sent out our volunteer signup sheet and before we knew it, the amazing ladies at Backing the Blue Line and their members filled 90% of the spots in just 1 day! Apparently they too, hate the word no! It was great to see the tremendous support and we were very much appreciative of that support.
We were able to secure an inspiring and very cool Law Enforcement tribute truck that was created by Rock On Trucks out of Waite Park. We figured it would be a long shot to have them say yes, but it only took a couple of hours for them to respond with, “Where do you need us and at what time?” WOW! Kevin and Krystal, owners of Rock On Enterprises are exceptional people and we can’t thank them enough for not only supporting our Law Enforcement, but for supporting our event as well.

We had a great turnout! The Croation Hall took great care of us. Chef Dave was a cooking machine ensuring everyone was fed. We had a number of LEO’s onsite (family of Nicholas’ included). Every last silent auction item and raffle item found a new home. Our photographer, Honeybee Photography did a great job capturing the days event - check out all the pictures here. The widow of Officer Scott Patrick received a standing ovation. The ladies of Backing the Blue Line were amazing to work with and now, the moment you’ve been patiently waiting for…

Do Some Good, with the support of our sponsors – B52 Burgers and Brew and Kwik Trip, donors and supporters were able to raise $6,280 so Backing the Blue Line can continue with their mission to support our Law Enforcement community and their families. We wouldn’t be able to pull these successful events off without amazing and supportive volunteers. Thank you to each and every one of you! Thank you for supporting Do Some Good!

God Bless,

Nicholas & Melissa Goers and our entire family
